More than 2000 natural deliveries in the first quarter of 2018-2019
Treatment Deputy of Abadan University of Medical Sciences told the reporters of the conduction of more than 2000 natural deliveries at this university in the first quarter of 208-2019.
Dr. Hojatollah Janebi this morning in an interview with a Web Da correspondent said 2474 out of all births in the first quarter of 2018-2019 were delivered naturally.
He added, within this timeframe, caesarean section per total delivery ratio of this university was 2.32%, showing a 3.2% decrease in comparison with this ratio last year.
Treatment Deputy stated: ‘In the first quarter of 2018-2019, 1036 mothers with high-risk pregnancy were identified and offered special prognostic and treatment services.’
He emphasized that constant supervision of services offered at gynecology and obstetrics (midwifery) offices has always been on the agenda of Obstetrics Office under the deputy of treatment and said the quality of the services offered to pregnant women at private centers are accurately assessed and evaluated by experts of Obstetrics Office.
Janebi mentioned other important activities of Obstetrics Office as follows: notification and monitoring of the enforcement of natural delivery propagation directives, obstetric triages, treatment monitoring, and evaluation of children friendly hospitals.    
He affirmed Obstetrics Office under the treatment deputy of Abadan University of Medical Sciences, to promote maternal health, is active in holding academic conferences on the propagation of natural delivery and preventing maternal mortality, conducting classes on obstetric triages and care system of maternal mortality, holding seminars with the presence of gynecologists, and supervising the hospitals.
